The Monteith crest is printed over a tartan background on both faces of this small round ceramic ornament, finished with a glossy coat that holds its colour.
The Monteith name comes from Menteith, the old district around the Lake of Menteith in Stirlingshire and Perthshire — one of Scotland's few lowland lakes still called a "lake" rather than a loch, and the source of this family's surname.
