I was in high school when I shot my first rolls of film. Given the opportunity to choose a meaningful topic for my final photo project, I chose racism. My friends didn’t get it. Born a Chicana in the Central Valley of California, she draws inspiration from the streets her ancestors walked and the fields they worked. Beyond her rich background, she also finds great influence in international films, poetry, and editorial photography.
