My husband and I suffer from recurrent pregnancy loss due to my chromosomal abnormalities and when we found out we were pregnant again over two years ago, I knew how likely we were to loose the baby. But at that moment, baby was with me. Baby was little, but loved. I wanted to honor that, so I painted a poppy seed. That’s how small she was. The next week, baby was the size of an apple seed, so I painted that, and she was still with us. Amazingly our baby kept growing, and we named her Lucy Kay (because when you add a “K” to Lucy, it spells Lucky.) But we had many babies that stayed small, babies didn’t grow much bigger than a raspberry, or blueberry, so I’m keeping this first painting, to honor those little ones we lost, and I re-painted it and added a few more weeks for any other parents out there who might want to have something that honors a sweet baby who stayed so little, but was so loved.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAbout the Artist:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eAshley lives deep on the woods of Washington State with her husband and three young children.
